Assessment of Specific Learning Difficulties
Full diagnostic assessments are offered as a remote procedure, usually in a single session of 3-4 hours. This time may interspersed with short breaks, according to the needs of the person being assessed.
Diagnostic assessment of Dyslexia consists of a wide range of testing to assess:
Underlying ability
Short-term and working memory
Phonological processing
Processing speed
Attainment in - Reading
- Writing - Spelling
Assessment of Developmental Coordination Disorder/Dyspraxia (DCD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) includes all of the above testing with additional approved detailed screening, interviewing and analysis.
Booking and Assessment Procedure
Assessment enquiries are made by email or webmail.
Agreement on the date and time for the assessment.
The Assessor requests the completion of the background information questionnaire.
The client returns the completed questionnaire by the specified date.
Client makes payment full or part payment as set out below.

Payment
Deposit needed to secure booking (minimum 25%) if more than 14 days before assessment. Dates are provisionally held for 24 hours.
The remaining fee is payable a minimum of 7 days before the assessment date.
Full payment of fees if the booking is less than 14 days before the assessment.
Payment by BACS.
Cancellation Policy
By client:
Cancellation in writing.
If cancelled less than 7 days before the assessment date - no refund of the deposit if the appointment cannot be reallocated.
If cancelled less than 48 hours before the assessment date - 50% of the full fee is chargeable.
By Assessor:
In the event of illness or emergency, the assessor will endeavour to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice and agree on a rescheduled appointment.
Assessment
Dyslexia Services assessors reserve the right to terminate the assessment where the client is not willing to cooperate fully in the required testing procedures.
Behaviour that compromises the validity of the assessment will result in incomplete reporting.
